Sumner Lake is a beautiful community in Manassas, Virginia.

Our LakeEntranceTucked away in Manassas, Sumner Lake is an historically inspired community that evokes the feeling of a small town from the 1800's, with a lake, several community parks and period architectural detail. In the summer of 1865, as a new peace settled over the Nation in the aftermath of the Civil War, businessman Sumner Fitts brought his wife and family to Manassas to build a hotel along the Alexandria and Orange railway line. Soon, he had also built a new home - the first of many that would spring up here and by early 1866 the "new" Manassas had begun to take shape.

Sumner Lake in the City of Manassas is named in honor of Sumner Fitts and his pioneering spirit to create new life and new grandeur in Manassas. On the city's last remaining undeveloped land parcel of scale, Airston Homes (Now Novella Homes) worked closely with the City of Manassas to create a community that evokes the spirit of those promising days at the end of the 19th century. Small parks tucked throughout the community, the lake encircled by a pedestrian walkway, scenic overlooks to sit and relax, and the central roundabout park offer a setting of warmth, charm, gentility and lush landscaping.

DucklingsExerciseYou can exercise along with your lake walking. You and your family simply come out and feed duckings or fish. Kids will love it! If you are really in luck, you can spot the turtles sunbathing on the side of the lake.
Be careful. They are quite sensitive. You don't want to scare them away.
